Well, we walked for an hour passing out flyers.
The ones where we will do work for the African orphans.
No one has called. Not a single one.
John's glad......Joey's mad......Johnny doesn't care......Hannah is doing chores in our house for money (she's the creative, the glass is half full child), ......Holly is still not sure what we are doing......I hope SOMEONE calls.
We have adopted an orpanage in Baraka, Zambia. It makes it more real to us. There are 50 kids in this small village. We hope to provide for all of them for a year. 18 of them are sponsered already. We only need 32 more kids taken care of at 185 dollars per child. We have a loooooooooong way to go.
The CEO of handsatwork.org wants us to come to Zambia in December or over summer break next year.
John says "absolutely not!"
I say, "Lets go!! It will be an awesome andventure!"
Yes-we are ABSOLUTE opposites in EVERYTHING.
Who will win out I say? I say it will be me.
We will go, visit that village and come back changed. (John just doesn't know it yet)
Hannah supports me.
We will pray together about this venture. (Where 2 or 3 are gathered in his name)
Off to Joey's soccer game.
They lose every game
Solution: Coach John signed up Johnny to be on Joey's team last night so we can win a few. So Johnny will be out there playing and all the parents will wonder where this kid came from. We HAVE to win you know....
Went to Glencoe beach last night. AWESOME. The kids were feeding the gulls crackers and they were swarming them. It was right at sundown, the weather was perfect, the sky was pink and purple and it was nothing but relaxation, and great family time. I want to do this every other weekend with the kids. The beach is 10 minutes away and we never use it. That will change...
And so my day goes on....talk soon..

We, meaning just your family adopted an orphanage or your school? I am miss pessimistic(?) but I doubt if anyone calls. We have done things like that and it fails miserably.. people have good intentions I believe but forget to follow through.
Our beach is about the same short distance and we never go either. I guess the pool is here. Maybe Kathleen will go hang with friends this summer..I'll buy the pass and no one will go..
I sent e-mails out to alot of people and I have had 6 replies but they already have someone watching their dog or they don't even have a dog! One of Joey's teachers has a golden and a doberman. She said we could have them for a few weeks in july but didn't know if we wanted two huge dogs in our house. We'll see..
As far as the orpanage goes, yes, there is a lady at CHA from South Africa that introduced me to a man through Skype. He is the CEO of Hands at Work. He gave a group of us women, 6 families in all, a village in Zambia that needs help. All 6 of our families have "adopted" this village and then our group hopes to fundraise send each couple out to Zambie in December or next summer for 10 days to see the work we are doing. It sounds crazy, I know, but God may open the doors. Who knows. John doesn't want to go and isn't the least bit interested but maybe he will change his mind.
did you say Africa? Isn't that where you feel God wants you to go someday? I will be the third person that prays...
