The "dumb gene"

Well, I got a C- on a paper I spent weeks on.  I can hear mom and dad's voices ringing in my ears right now, "Bridgette, you unfortunately got the not so smart gene in the family" and "you're not college material".  Along with, "you flunked out of college" and "you're just like me- couldn't learn".    John is telling me to keep going.  I figure at 43 I should be able to do better than an 18 year old going to school.  I hope I can get through all of this, especially math.

The weather ended up being nice in muscatine and the quad cities.  We should have gone up today.  I know chrissy went to a lot of trouble getting everything ready.  Figures- you can never predict the weather I guess.

The kids and their friends made over 200 christmas cards for injured american soldiers in a hospital in germany.  I am so excited they got so many done.  maybe we will hear back from someone.

Home Instead Senior Care took the office out to dinner for Bob Chins seafood thursday.  it was great.  we had a gift exchange and i got 12 decorations for my tree representing the 12 days of christmas along with a christian story behind each decoration.  it was so nice.  we laughed all night long...probably a few too many mai tai's.

we have been researching dollywood in the smokies.  the kids are so excited.  everything i have been looking up is SO expensive.  just to get in dollywood will cost us over 300 dollars.  i don't know how much we will do.  there seems to be a ton of christmas shows.  it reminds me a little like branson, mo.

i made cookies tonight with the christmas carols on.  after i broke up several fights i hung up my spatula and told everyone to leave.  oh, the warm, fuzzy memories of christmas.  it will never be like the walton's over here....

i'm signing out.  we are waiting for a blizzard to hit tonight.  maybe it will.  that would be fun for the kids.

talk soon

I don't know how you can study as much as you need to for an A with all the kids and their life..

I didn't have a choice in going to Iowa. Our flights all canceled. We ended up with 20+ inches of snow and could not have gotten out driving either. I have never seen snow blowing like that. matt got called in to work until noon so took the sub.. got through it but the highways all closed down later on along with the airport. Today Dan was called into work so headed in. Gets a Miami turn..
