Joey had his first "girl" experience.
Maybe I should clarify ; )
He found out a girl liked him. She text him and told him.
He said, "I like you too!"
Here comes the "hysterically sobbing" part.
She said, "I want to meet you at the CHA track meet so we can sit together."
Joey text back,"OK", dropped his i-touch and started sobbing hysterically--gagging in the toilet--asthma attack sobs....
It scared him to death!
He thought it was safe to tell her he liked her by texting, and then when she went a step further and said she was showing up where he was, he thought he was going to throw up.
He sobbed, "I don't know if I really like her. She thinks I do now. Why did I ever tell her that stupid stuff? I don't want to meet her at the track meet. What do I say to her? Do I have to sit by her? Why is 6th grade so complicated!!!"
It was all John and I could do but not burst into laughter. We were trying to hold it in as we explained to him he needed to calm down and that if she came to the track meet he should just be friendly and act normal.
Didn't work.
After 1/2 hour of crying and gagging I told him to text her back and tell her that your mom read all of your texts and said you can't talk about crushes and girlfriends any more.
He did.
He relaxed.
I laid in bed with him until he fell asleep.
The next morning...
A new text from Destiny.
"Do you mean we are not more than just friends? I thought we were more than friends."
Joey came running in my room bawling his head off---"A new text from Destiny mom! What am I going to do?"
I told him to text her back and tell her she was a good friend to him but his mom said he can't have a girlfriend.
He did and we left for school.
9:00 am----school nurse calls me.
Joey's sick.
I run down to the nurses office and he is crying hysterically and gagging in the garbage.
He couldn't face her.....too scared.
I brought him home and told him he had to face her tomorrow, and he agreed.
And so are the days of our lives....
