I got adventuresome yesterday......

So I'm sitting here at Wallis' trying to stay awake....It's 12:05 a.m....Just kill me now and get it over with....

I got adventuresome yesterday and dyed my hair red with a $7 box of hair color. When the light hits it you can see a tinge of purple. I think the correct color can be described as 'eggplant'.

NOT what I wanted.

The girls love it.

The boys say I look like I am wearing a wig.

John says it's 'fine' and to stop worrying about it.

Johnny says if anyone says anything about my 'eggplant hair' he will tell them to stop talken 'bout his Mama.

I took Joey in to get his hair cut today. (Which by the way looks super cute.)

The hair dresser said to me, as I hid behind a coat rack with my eggplant hair, “Who did your hair? I love it! It matches your complexion beautifully!”

“Why I did it!” I said with confidence. It cost me $7!”

I feel better now.

My holiday lights tour went well with my priests. I had intestinal problems all week worrying about it.

I ordered super cute snowman cookies and egg nog from a Jewish bakery down the street. They put Hanukkah stickers all over the wrappers. Not sure why, when I specifically said 'Christmas cookies'. Just can't get away from the Hanukkah cheer around here.

Santa came and mingled with the residents before we left on the bus. He was great. Some of the residents even sat on his lap! Here is an ugly picture of me with Santa.

I invited the nuns from the convent down the street. Here is a darling picture of some of the nuns and Santa.

I especially love the nun on the right with that cute little wink and a smile. The nun on the left told me she had a terrible time. I guess at 98 years old, it's no fun riding a bus for 3 hours and going to the tiny bus toilet twice, trying to lift up a nun dress.

Johnny is playing basketball now.

The games are so much fun to watch....though I cringe when he gets screamed at by the coach. He said, “Mom, I have no idea what I'm doing out there. When I get the ball I freak out! I can't remember how to shoot, what the rules are.....all I can think about is getting rid of the ball!”

He has made some baskets and is playing better than what he was. I need to get a picture of him. He looks adorable in his school uniform. There is a 6'2” African American boy on the team that gets every point and rebound...thus they have only lost 1 game. He has now become Johnny's best friend~really nice kid.

The race has begun at our house. We're gearing up for Christmas. John is painting away the downstairs bedrooms and almost has Johnny's done. He turned it into a White Sox room with silver paint and black and white fathead logos.

Joey has the Cubs theme going with blue paint and a big fathead Cub's logo on his wall.

We went to Goodwill today and bought them each a decent desk for $30 bucks. (I love that store.)

We are laying the flooring next week.

I should have the Christmas decorations up right before the 25th!

Not much else. I can't wait to see you all in a few weeks! I'll be in touch with you on what you should bring. I'm thinking about catering some food.

More on that later.....

Here are some cute pictures of Hannah and Holly.
