Fraudulent Purses
My great idea--having a purse party to support Hands at Work in Africa.
I invited 165 people.
I found out from a friend that the purses might be "hot".
I investigated.
They were.
My e-mail back to 165 people: "Due to the fact that I don't want to go to prison, the purse party is officially cancelled. I will be hosting a wine and cheese party in September for the same event. No "hot" items will be on sale."
Bummer.
I can just hear it now as I sit in jail--Inmate-"What are you in for?" Me-"Purse Party."

Best Friend Moving
One of my best friends, Alicia, is moving to Oklahoma. Her husband wants to be a rancher and get out of this "material world". They will be gone in 3 weeks. I will really miss her. She is the one person I go and have coffee with. I will miss that.

Ants
We have ants. Big, black, put a saddle on their ugly segmented body, ants.
It is disgusting. Really, really disgusting.
John swears he can cure the problem by putting ant poison around the house and I want an exterminator to come out.
I still see ants.
I keep killing them because I don't want to get into a big fight with John.

Resale
CHA had a resale. I was in charge of 1 thing- Getting rid of the leftovers after the sale.
Job title -Philanthropy
I again failed. I don't think I will asked to be on any committee again.
For starters the charity truck was 1 hour late.
Next, he lifted up the door of the truck and it was almost completely full. (I am sure I told him this was a huge school resale event and to bring an empty truck.) Everyone's mouth fell open when we saw the full truck.
We finally got about 1/2 of the items jammed in and then the truck got a flat tire.
The driver just drove it back to the warehouse on a flat. We had to find a tarp to put over all the remaining items and some bricks to hold it down in the storm we saw rolling in.
Again, I don't think they will be asking me to volunteer for an event again.

Joey's Birthday
The day of the sleep over I got a call from the school nurse.
It was Joey.
He didn't feel well.
He said he had a headache and stomach ache.
My evaluation-he had a case of the birthday party nerves.
I told him to take 2 Tylenol and go back to class. It worked.
We had 8 boys (the geek squad) for a sleep over. I have to say it went really well. The jokes they told went over my head. Johnny's friends tell ridiculous jokes and Joey's friends tell intellectual jokes. Big difference in friends. Anyway, Joey got $150 towards our Zambia vegetable garden from the kids. We had a cook out, watched a movie and they went to sleep at a decent hour. John then took them all out to the farm the next morning to help Joey with his chores. Here are a few pics... We started out with burnt hamburgers, compliments of John...
Joey has a new pig by the way. Something is wrong with Amon. He has some kind of disease. Another 4-Her's pig died. So the farm got 2 more pigs "Frank and Stien" Joey has 'Stien'. He's not real keen on the name but would rather have a live pig than a dead one. So we shall see what Stien is like. Pictures to come.

Holly's Birthday
The day started out with breakfast in bed served by Dad..
I then gave her a crown to wear to school (as you can see I stole it from Burger King and she doesn't even know it)
Hannah and I decorated her locker |
I had to have Joey's sleepover on Holly's birthday, so I took her out on a date while Daddy put together her "surprise".
We went for ice cream and then a walk in the park...
The park was decorated for Memorial Weekend |
Then the big surprise!!
She absolutely loves it. She begged me to sing Shania Twain's "I Feel Like a Woman" while she played. (It's the first song she wants to master). It isn't bothering me too bad yet. Joey has picked up a few things watching lessons on Youtube already. I have a feeling he will be playing in no time.
She was very happy and excited.
I have the entire 1st grade coming for her party on Monday--20 six and seven yr. olds. There will be more on that later...

Hannah's Dance Recital
She did great. She was in 6 dances.
2 Modern, 2 ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop
Very exciting for her.
Quick costume changes;
In the changing room with the highschoolers;
Lots of makeup;
Here are a few pictures of us leaving for the recital..
