It's a new week. Breathe in, Breathe out....
We (I) are frantically getting the house ready for Ted and Mertie and their 2 girls and kids. We are leaving for family camp on Sunday-the same day they arrive.
Would you like to know what the back deck looks like?
I thought you would...
OK- So I picked all that junk up and it's all in the dining room. There are 2 HUGE milkweed plants growing in between the deck slats. John says it's good for warts..., so in case we ever get a wart we have a natural remedy. I have to leave them. Lovely decor while using the fire pit.
I left the Landers a note telling them the flood has caused the huge eyesore in the dining room, garage and the office. There is also a big tree laying on our garage from the storm.
You can just call us The Gilchrist White Trash Family...
OK....on to the county fair.
Joey placed last in every category. The reason- He never walked that big, fat, flabby pig once. He just watched as John did all the work. Yes-we are taking all the money made off the auction. He won't be in 4-H next year. Just Hannah.
Here are pics of the fair
Here is big old Stein. He was 270 lbs.
This is Amon, Joey's first pig that never grew. This pig actually took 2nd place in showmanship.
Joey cleaning Stein right before showing time.
Cleaning a little poop off Stein's butt during the show. You can't have poop or points will be taken off.
Joey in the Last place cage. Oh well!
So, we are off to family camp. I hope we have fun and the kids fighting will be down to a minimum.
The place is called Covenant Point in Iron River, MI. I've never been to the U.P. so I'm excited to see it.
This is what we are expecting to see..Pictures of Iron River:
We come home on Saturday and get to go sailing on this on Sunday:
We will leave Monroe Harbor at 3 and sail to Grant Park and watch the fireworks go off over the sky line. Very excited about that! The kid's teacher owns a timeshare on this boat and is taking us along.
I will post new pictures when we get back.
