Happy birthday Johnny!

Today is Johnny's birthday.
I can't believe he is 15 years old.
It seems just like yesterday I was playing cars with him in the living room.
His voice is deep,
He shaves
He loves to be alone in his room.....  I'm sad....

This is what he got  for his birthday.....

1. Money from family
2. Brownies from a girl named Elana
3. Cookies and a Sox hat from a girl named Griffin
4. Dinner out at his favorite restaurant, "Greek Feast".
5. A Football sign we ordered from Glenbrook North High School.
6. An apple pie : )
7. A touchdown at his game today
8.  This song written by Holly...

Most families in Northbrook that have a highschooler have a sign in front of their house with the activities their kids are in.  It's kind of a neat tradition in town.  We now have a sign...a rite of passage of sorts...

Johnny was so excited to get it.

Homecoming

He had a great time.  Here is a cute picture of his date.  They looked just darling together.

The school had a Dr. Seuss theme and Johnny said the pep assembly and dance was pretty amazing.  Here are a few pics...

After the Friday night game there was a 30 minute fireworks show in the stadium.

A little over the top but the kids were loving it.  I worked the concession stand for the sophomore game and I have to say it was really fun.  The parents were nice and we laughed all night trying to keep up with orders.

The next dance in February is called 'Turn About' where the girl asks the guy.
The day after homecoming Johnny was asked buy a cute little Jewish girl named Alexis.  She's a gymnast that won state as an 8th grader last year.  Her family lives at an 'estate'...one of the largest homes in Northbrook....15,000 sq. ft.  She told Johnny she wanted to get her 'reservation in early' and so she was asking him way ahead of time.  Johnny said yes and I think kind of likes her.  Let's see where that goes...

Work is going well.  I am taking the priests to see the Rockette's at the Rosemont Theater in December.  They should love it.  We're painting pumpkins this month and having a Halloween party.  The guys all look so cute in their costumes..and of course the nuns come in their witches hats which is totally hysterical.

Joey is psyched that he got Wilbur.  He was sobbing when he told me over the phone.  I was soooooo happy for him.  I am still worried about his weight.  He is super skinny.   He goes in next week to the pediatrician for his weigh in.  I know they are going to send him to see a specialist.  I'll keep you all posted on that.
