Teeth/Football/Glasses

An update from Wallis' apartment...

She went to bed early tonight (10 pm) so I fear I may run out of things to do to keep myself awake. Only 3 hours to go..My contacts are already feeling foggy....

Let's start off with a little bit of Holly..

Joey's Canine's

Joey had 2 teeth pulled Thursday.

I made a slight mistake on the date....I took him last Thursday and it was this Thursday.

Poor Joey. He was in the bathroom at the oral surgeon's office with diarrhea and gagging.

So nervous.

I checked in and I had the wrong date. I had to come back the following week.

So he had diarrhea and gagging all over again this Thursday.

He did really well though. I stayed in the room and watched the surgeon pull out the teeth..pretty cool.

When we left Joey said, “That was kind of fun!” Yeah...right...

Here he is when we left the surgeon's office:

He lost another tooth today.

He said to me, “Mom, I think I may be entering my awkward years. I've lost 4 teeth in the last 2 months.” What can I say. That's Joey for you.

Speaking of teeth..Here is a video of Holly's loose tooth:

School and Football

I think Johnny will be in for a rude awakening (literally)...He has been doing this all summer and school starts Tuesday:

Besides sleeping, he has been playing football for his high school's Jr. league.

It's his first year and he loves it. Here are his battle wounds:

He looks SO grown up.. I am in the car pool line trying to snap a picture as he walks off with his helmet and pads. The cars behind me are honking, wanting me to 'move along'. Can't a mother get a picture of her son's first day of football w/o being harassed? I'm sure I looked ridiculous.

Hannah Has New Glasses

My 2 kids that lucked out with the most beautiful eyes, are both stuck with glasses.

It's Hannah this time and it turned out her prescription is pretty strong.

Very nearsighted like her mother.

Hannah loves her glasses and is very proud of them.

She went straight for the rack and picked out a thick orangey brown pair of frames and said, “These make me look like an office worker mom. I want them!”

I begged her to try on more, but to no avail. She is wearing these:

Mike, Ben, Annie, and Jackie

They arrived on Friday and we headed straight for the beach after dinner.

It was great. The kids had a blast. A few pics...

Joey and Mike also had a jam session:

Jackie went to her photography class Saturday morning and loved it.

Our plan: To pick Jackie up at 10:30 and head downtown to the air and water show.

God's plan: Major lightening and thunderstorms.

So, we waited. And waited...and waited...

We finally took off at noon to the train station. As soon as we got there the radio announcer said it was too cloudy for the planes to perform and it would be another 1 ½ hour delay.

We ate dessert by the train station and waited....

Another storm hit.

Mike said, “Let's just go home. It's not meant to be.”

So, we missed it.

After the storm cleared up, I took Jackie to the Botanical Gardens to take pictures and try out the new buttons and gadgets she learned to use in her photography class.

She took 200 photo's.

I'm posting 27 of them.

I know it's a lot...but you all need to know what an amazing photographer your niece is.

Last but not least here are a few more of the kiddos:

Black Mold Update

It's bad. Especially the laundry room. We start ripping out all the walls downstairs next week.

The only upside: John's going to have to throw more of his junk away : )

I am now going to read a biography of a priest I met at work, and then talk philosophy with him. He gave me the book and wants to know my opinions about his beliefs..

Oh, and by the way, I am the new activity director there as well. They gave me a promotion : )

One hour and 45 minutes to go before I get to go home... UGH...

Congrats on your promotion! That is perfect job for you!!!!

Glad Joey is ok after his teeth pulling. That is so nerve racking. (I know from experience!)

Hope Johnny enjoys football. I know how much he was looking forward to it...
