Time to Blog

Just put Wallis to bed and so you know what that means....

Time to blog : )

Our roof is done!

I absolutely, positively love it! (With all my heart I may add).

Here is a picture of it:

But, as you may already know, construction companies are notorious for not completely finishing their work.

This is what they left behind...

Yep-

A Big

Blue

Port-a-Potty.

Right in the middle of our driveway.

Our gutters are laying in the grass by the side of the house as well.

I figure they will have to come back for that port-a-potty sooner or later. And when they do, I shall remind them of the gutters. If they don't put up our gutters, I won't return that port-a-potty. I'll keep it hostage. I'll also keep our money hostage.

By the way, as soon as our roof was done, and I moved my car back into the driveway, the neighbors conveniently moved their car back into their driveway.

I reminded John of my suspicions. He thinks it was probably just a coincidence. John's always the calm one. I need to to hold back the evil eye when I see them next.

**********************************************

The Halloween party was a huge success at the priest residency. I brought the 'priests in training' costumes. I brought the retired priests an assortment of hats.

They looked awesome! Here are some pictures....

The African American man is Father Guidry. He went to the Andrea Rieu concert with me. He is the sweetest priest in the building. I really, really love him. He comes to all my failing activities so my feelings won't be hurt. He also sets up all the booze for my Chicago Bears Game get togethers.  He served all his life at a parish in Mississippi.

The guy with his back towards you is Father Halpern. He is 94. He sings like a young man (beautifully) and also pushes wheelchairs for me when I take the guys out for lunch. He's great.  I'm not sure where he served.

Fr. Theriult- He is wheelchair bound and talks with his dentures rolling around loose in his mouth. He never misses my bible trivia games and gets mad if I don't give him credit for an answer that's half right. He also gets mad if the question's hard and says, “That's not in the bible!” He's usually the winner and loves to tell everyone. I put his name on the bulletin board with a big star under it. He loves that.  He served in Mississippi and was put in jail for having his hair cut in a "Negro barbershop".  He was a huge advocate in the civil rights movement.

All the nuns and priests together playing bingo. Aren't they cute : ) They guys love it when I invite the nuns over.

I don't know this priest very well. He always says, “I'll take a pass” when I ask him to join in the fun. He went out on a limb here with this hat though! I love this picture.

Fr Felix- 92 years young. Looooove him. He is the Godliest one of the bunch. Very wise, loves Jesus, Holy Spirit filled and very supportive of me. The counselor type with tons of compassion. The first person I would go to for spiritual advice. Great man.  He served in India his whole life.  55 years.

Fr. Halpren again. I just love this statue of liberty hat.

Brother Bob- Hardly ever talks-the quietest one of the bunch. He has an almost sweet, child like quality about him. All the employees like to ride his shiny red scooter..You can see it next to him..

Fr. Boykins- 94yr., Tender, loving, the most evangelical of the bunch. He served in Ghana for most of his life. He wrote me a note the other day and started it out by saying, “Dear Bridgette, is that your precious name?” Oh my goodness, so sweet!! Love him. He's on dialysis and tries to smile even when he feels sick.

Fr. Donaghey-(the guy standing with his walker) 88 yr., mostly blind, is mean to most of the guys, loves to yell “Shut up!” to Fr. Kerston when he coughs because Fr. Kerston told him his mass was boring years ago. Fr. Donaghey still holds it against him. He was a man in charge all his life. He served in Rome at the vatican and wrote several books. He only likes me to shave him. : )

Fr. Rodney-87 yr., I was told he likes to try and 'escape' so I have to watch the doors with him. He leads the rosary every day and the sing-a-longs. He writes me letters at least 3 times a week on his ideas to make the residency fun. My mailbox is always full when I come to work...

Priests in training. They're my facebook friends now!

Fr. Sylvester-90 yr., he has the most compassionate eyes you have ever seen. The first time I met him I thought I was going to start crying. He can't talk, but he can talk with those eyes. He looks at you like he understands everything you're saying and you can see the love of Jesus SO explicitly in his eyes that you feel like you've been with Moses. I love him. He's the best listener ever.  He served for 45 years in New Guinea.

Fr. Fisher-92 yr., He has to be right and if you challenge him on any topic his voice starts to raise and quiver. He told me Jonathon and David of the bible were gay. The other men at the table started yelling at him. I think he likes controversy. He loves history and he loves to repeat his stories. He is always nice to me and loves hugs. He served his whole life in New Guinea as well.

Lastly, yes I'm almost done typing....some cute pictures of my favorite #8....

A video...Johnny is sometimes hard to see, but I only put in the shots of him either getting the tackle or having the ball.
