Busy Few Weeks With the "Boys"

I've had a busy week with the "Boys" at the residency.

I hired a jazz singer last week.  She was great!  Here she is...Quite attractive!

The men LOVED her!  She sang all the old 40's music and played the flute.  She was AMAZING on the flute.

Here I am making the introduction:

Fr. Boykins said to me he couldn't believe I had a 'night club act' coming in to perform.

By the middle of the show he was enjoying it so much he could hardly stay in his seat!

By the grace of God I scored another great performance.

I am taking them to the library tomorrow and getting several of them library cards.  That should be challenging!  They are excited though, so that's the whole point of doing it.

On Thursday I'll take about 13 of them to lunch at a tavern down the road.  The bartender is Catholic and LOVES these guys.  All the drinks are on the house; and boy can these guys drink.  It's a good thing I'm the designated driver after our luncheons!  One of the Fathers was actually trying to smuggle bottles of beer under his coat on our last outing!  I have to keep a close eye on him....

Next week I am taking them to Disney on Ice.  Believe it or not many of the guys want to see Cinderella on skates!  Who would have known!

This guy right here drives me crazy...

High maintenance is probably the word I'm looking for.  He wants me to do everything for him and I try to be SOOOOOO patient.  It's things like warming up his coffee every 5 minutes, moving his chair around his room 39 times until I have it in just the right spot, and finding just the right seat on the bus. His 90 yr. old buddy that helps him quite often, and is blind I might add, said to me, "Brother Louis likes service doesn't he!".  Is THAT an understatement!  Anyway, he will be on all the outings these next few weeks.  Lord give me patience!

Biology has started.

I am going to dissect a pig Saturday.

I have lab every Saturday from 9-3 for the next 3 months.

I can't wait to see what the ages of the students are.

I'm sure I will be the oldest in the class-  and am dreading it.

More on that later....

I had to cancel my Jamaica mission trip.

Hannah's dance recital fell right in the middle of it.

She looked at me and said, "Mom, you're not going to miss my recital are you?"

I told her I wouldn't miss it for anything........and then tearfully e-mailed the mission director and told him I couldn't go.

There will always be other trips......

That's it for now.  I better hit the sack.  I have to rest up for the big trip to the library tomorrow!
