I took the priests to “Disney on Ice”
at the All State Arena on Friday.
It was awesome!
I remembered that show to be a boring
kids show, and wasn't looking all that forward to going.
There were skaters flying through the
air by invisible ropes, super sparkly and elaborate costumes and
fireworks!
The men absolutely LOVED it. And so
did I.
Here is a picture of 3 of them....
The guy in the middle is so super cute.
His name is Br. Joe and I love him to death.
We have belly laughs every single day.
He is blind and loves life. The stories he shares with me are
hilarious. He told me of a time when he hadn't taken a bath for days
and the nuns made him strip naked and took a garden hose and hosed
him down. He said he didn't mind. The guy just cracks me up.
Today I took them to Good Will to shop.
They were like kids in a candy shop. We left with two carts full of
bags. We bought puzzles, clothes, picture frames, you name it. They
couldn't stop talking about how great of a time they had.
I am taking them all to Rivers Casino
in Des Plains on Monday. I hope that goes smooth.

Johnny was in the 8th grade
play at school.
It's a requirement for his Literature
class.
He was good.
Not just good, but surpisingly great!
I had NO idea he could act!!
He had a pretty big role which he never
told me about.
He had to talk in a british accent and
said he felt absolutely ridiculous trying to talk that way.
The play was “The Little Princess.”
Apparently an entire row of girls
showed up at the Friday night show to see him. They were 'facebook
friends' that he had never met from Lake Forest Jr. High. Every time
he came out on stage the girls screamed. John and I couldn't figure
out who they were.
After the play, Johnny said, “Well,
that was awkward! I had to meet these girls with make-up all over my
face, my hair spray painted grey and a moustache pasted on.”
It was pretty funny and I was proud of
him.
Here are some cute pictures...
John and I have started coaching
Volleyball. Actually John coaches and I make sure the kids are
getting even playing time, run the scoreboard and put stats in the
book.
The kids love John. I heard them say,
“We actually have a 'real' coach this year!”
(Most of the time the coach is a dad
that is forced to be there or the team folds.)
Our JV team won their first game
yesterday and our V team lost.
Our next match is tomorrow. John is loving it, Johnny is loving it,
Joey is crying because he is the only 7th grader who can't
serve overhand, and I am tired and trying to enjoy it.

My biology class is hell. That's all I
can say about that. It's mostly chemistry. I did get an 'A' on my
first exam. It took 2 ½ hours to finish. I memorized all the terms
but had no idea what any of it meant. I think God is the only reason
I'm getting through it.

I am still voluteering for Willow Creek
as their person they call when they need boxes packed for a refugee
family moving to town. There are 2 huge pods behind the church full
of stuff that I box up..about 10 boxes per family. I am out there in
the cold about 4 times a week. I look like a homeless woman to
passerbyers as I dig through the 'stuff'. I may go and get a massage
soon. My back is starting to kill me.
