A Few Days Off/ 2 Dozen Roses/Rivers Casino/Activity Night

I have been getting sleep.

It's been wonderful.

The kids have a 5 day weekend and so no getting up and rushing them to school.

I'm leaving for Muscatine on Saturday right after my BIO class and coming back Monday.  I hope Mom doesn't go to too much work.

You won't believe this when I tell you.....

JOHN GOT ME 2 DOZEN LONG STEM RED ROSES FOR VALENTINES DAY AND HAD THEM DELIVERED TO MY WORK....AND THEY WEREN'T FROM JEWEL/OSCO!!!  THEY WERE FROM AN ACTUAL FLORIST!

No Joke.  I also got a card and a gift certificate for a massage.

All I have to say is "Unbelievable".  I have never gotten 'real' roses from him in my life.

It was a nice day....

I took the preists to River's Casino in Des Plaines on Wednesday.

It was a very nice place, the food was great and the trip went smooth.

I gave each guy $20 to spend gambling for 1 hour.

One priest gave me his ticket in exasperation.  He was down to $11 in just 10 minutes.

He said, "Take the money Bridgette.  I don't want to do this anyway.  I think it's a waste of time!"

So, I took his money, stuck it in a 5 cent slot, and all of the sudden....

BELLS, WHISTLES, LIGHTS FLASHING, PEOPLE GATHERING AROUND MY CHAIR

I went from $11 to $60 in 30 seconds.

I couldn't believe it!  I never win anything!

I cashed it in and gave it to the priest.  He told me to keep it...so I did.

Everyone lost all their money but me and Fr. Jones...he won $1200!!!!!!!  It was unbelievable.

Here are pics:

Big Time Rush

I am taking Hannah to see "Big Time Rush" on Friday.  She loves them.  They are a band on Nickelodeon.

We went shopping at Justice yesterday and bought her a new outfit with some "bling".  It's just her and I.  I'm intending on investing in ear plugs at this venue...

So we took Johnny to activity night at Glenbrook North High School last night.

The poms performed, the cheerleaders performed and the a Capella girls group performed.  They sang "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele...and I have to say, It Was Amazing!!!!!  I was shocked at the talent.

After that, we wandered around the halls while the different clubs tried to get Johnny to sign up at their table.  John and I were collecting all the flyers as Johnny tried to stay as far away from the tables as possible.  (John and I felt like it was our activity night.)

This was the scenario...

Me ~ "This sounds like a great club Johnny!"  I was collecting all the humanitarian club flyers.
Johnny ~ "Mom, I already have 20 humanitarian flyers...don't collect anymore!"

John~ "Johnny, get over there and shake the football coaches hand.  You need to get you name on the list."
"Coach, this is my son Johnny."
Johnny~ "Dad, all I want to do is go over to the sign up sheet, put my name down and pick up the practice schedule.  Why are you making me shake hands with the coach?!"

Yes, the night pretty much went like that.

Suprisingly, Johnny took off to a table on his own.....without us shoving him into it...

It was "The Medical Club".  I had no idea he would have chosen that, as I was shoving "Habitat for Humanity" in his folder.

He said "Mom, I am the most excited about the Medical Club.  You get to listen to people from the medical field lecture once a month.  I can't wait!"

So, the medical club and football it is....No stocking food pantries or raising money for the invisible children in Rwanda.

So, that's about it.  I'm learning about phenotypes and genotypes in Bio and hating it.  My test is next Friday.  Wish me luck.

I have to go to court on Thursday about that accident.  Pray the other guy doesn't show up so I don't have to pay the ticket.

I'll end with a video that Holly took in the CHA cafeteria while I was on the phone with my friend Alicia.  (You can hear me laugh in the back ground)....Another video I had no idea she was making...
